Our History:

Tellurian Biodiesel was created in September 2006 from the merger of San Francisco Biodiesel and LA BioFuel, two of California’s leading biodiesel companies, to combine the talents and expertise of each company and capitalize on the growing biodiesel market.

Tellurian has successfully managed the biodiesel transition process for several municipalities including the cities of Santa Monica, Inglewood and San Francisco and has worked with companies in the entertainment, food service, technology and manufacturing industries.

Our Present:

Tellurian Biodiesel has entered into a joint venture with Golden State Foods, one of the largest diversified suppliers to the quick-service restaurant industry, to recycle used cooking oil into biodiesel that exceeds industry specifications.
The new venture, Encore BioRenewables, plans to launch its first biodiesel production facility in Southern California in early 2009, and will open additional processing plants throughout the U.S. as the market develops for their product.
The high-quality, more sustainable, biodiesel produced by this closed-loop solution will be sold to trucking companies, municipal fleets and to GSF to fuel its distribution fleet, which services its customers in the quick-service restaurant industry.

Tellurian is also developing several biodiesel production facilities throughout the United States. With a commitment to sustainability, our model is to use local and domestically available feedstocks for regional biodiesel production and consumption whenever possible in order to maximize carbon reduction and energy conservation.

With funding from the South Coast Air Quality Management District, Tellurian is managing a biodiesel NOx reduction demonstration project in partnership with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, City of Santa Monica, California Energy Commission and Air Resources Board.

Our Future:

Our regional business development strategy is an integral part of a broader philosophy of sustainability. Developing community, municipal and regional business, recycling, agriculture and infrastructure to support the implementation of biodiesel will provide jobs, tax revenues and good environmental public policy and relations for the entities involved. It will also promote the use of renewable, low emission fuel, reducing air pollution in the region while helping to establish a sustainable energy future.
